The Black Sailfin Molly (Poecilia latipinna or hybrid variants) is a stunning selectively bred livebearer known for its deep velvety black coloration and the impressive, large sail-like dorsal fin displayed prominently by males, creating an elegant and dramatic presence in the aquarium. This active and hardy fish can reach 4-6 inches in length, with males often showcasing the most extravagant fins. Generally peaceful in temperament, it does well in community tanks with other non-aggressive species, though males may display mild fin-nipping or chasing—keep in groups with multiple females per male to diffuse any aggression. It thrives in hard, alkaline water conditions
